Board of Directors

Church Web Fund exists to help churches embrace and conform to Google and Facebook’s web structure so that they can thrive and grow.

Our vision is especially drawn to small churches with strong leaders who show strength in Biblical teaching, staffing, vision casting, and fostering generosity within their congregations.

David ThorneProgram and Compliance Director, Board Member
David Thorne is a passionate supporter of the church and church planting. This passion led him to serve as associate pastor of a growing church plant in Cleveland, Ohio for 8 years. He is currently developing this passion even further while pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Leadership Studies at Bowling Green State University. He is also serving as the Children and Families Pastor of one of the most diverse churches in Ohio – Garfield Memorial Church.

David loves helping churches prepare for people far from God to attend. He enjoys using his experiences to impact the kingdom of God in every way possible.

Earl Ricker
Earl RickerBoard Member
The founder of the Church Web Fund, Earl Ricker, has a deep passion for the Christian Church.

Earl was inspired to form Church Web Fund through his interactions with numerous small churches that simply couldn’t afford to adopt mission critical web technologies that large churches and megachurches can. He was afraid that many of those churches will face the same fate that Blockbuster Video faced when Netflix adopted streaming technology and Blockbuster didn’t.

Earl is a co-founder of a Church Advertising Agency named Missional Marketing. Missional Marketing counts many of the nation’s largest megachurches among its clients. He has been a been a major contributor to Central Christian Church of Arizona for many years. He is also a Christian songwriter.

Earl has a Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Michigan University. He has been married to Patty Ricker for 25 years. They have two grown children.

Patricia Ricker
Patricia RickerBoard Member
Patty has fearlessly invested in and helped build a for-profit Kingdom growth company that helps hundreds of churches reach people through online traffic generation. She is a devoted Christian who has led hundreds of people to take church membership classes and be baptized through her work at Missional Marketing where she is team a leader and owner. Prior to her work with Missional Marketing she worked for a Worldwide Advertising Agency.

She has enthusiastically supported a 10,000 member megachurch named Central Christian Church as a major donor as it expanded from 1 to 5 campuses. Patty is also a Life Group leader at Central Christian Church.

Patty has been married for 25 years and has raised two health conscious, financially independent children. She also carried the responsibility for the health and welfare of both of her parents during their end of life. In addition, she has cheerfully helped her handicapped husband for 17 years.

In her younger days, Patty as a single mom herself, volunteered for a Child Support Enforcement group called A.C.E.S.

Patty chose to fund the startup costs and be a Board Member for Church Web Fund because it greatly concerns her to see churches decline because of a lack of the resources needed to stay current with internet technology.

“Earl and Patty Ricker have been among our largest supporters.”
Steve Bostic, CFO, Central Christian Church of Arizona

Advisory Board

Our advisory board is a group that provides non-binding strategic advice to the officers of Church Web Fund. The informal nature of our advisory board gives it greater flexibility in structure and management compared to the Board of Directors.

Jason Hamrock
Jason Hamrock
Jason is the CEO of Missional Marketing, a firm that helps hundreds of churches reach the unchurched and the churchless. Missional Marketing provides Christian communications, marketing, and public relations services for Christian churches, colleges, universities, schools, nonprofits, and businesses.

Jason is a former Church Communications Director for a mega church with 10,000 weekly attendees. He is passionately driven to help churches find effective ways to reach people outside their walls.

Featured Volunteers

Amazing volunteers work behind the scenes at Church Web Fund everyday, making a difference. These volunteers offer their time, talent and expertise and our organization would not be as successful without them! We are very thankful for their continual efforts and hard work.

Sandy Cornelius
Sandy Cornelius
Sandy is a retired commercial airline pilot for a major airline for almost 30 years. He attends a Lutheran LCMS church in Mesa, AZ and is concerned about statistics indicating a continuing erosion in the number of people who attend a Christian church in this country. He wants to do what he can to encourage church attendance because church is where we hear God’s word, and God uses his word to change souls. Sandy’s hobby is photography. He’s also attempting to learn to play the piano but so far without much success, but not for lack of trying.
Jim “Bink” Stanley
Jim “Bink” Stanley
Bink attends Mission Community Church in Gilbert, Arizona. He and his wife Lorrie have done premarital counseling with a number of young couples from Mission. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. He loves his St. Louis Cardinals and Oklahoma Sooners and thinks he’s a pretty good Euchre player. He throws statistics around that may or may not back up that claim. Bink helps out at Church Web Fund because he has seen what can happen to organizations that fall behind on web technology. He also wants to do his part in keeping that from happening to churches.
Shirley McKinney
Shirley McKinney
Shirley is a retired educator who enjoys her family and friends, and shares her skills through volunteer activities. She attends Central Christian Church in Mesa, Arizona where she is also a Life Group member. Shirley’s work, alongside the work of other volunteers, helps churches access web technology that will assist them in remaining viable sources of service to advance the Kingdom of God.
